Flores Geotechnical Compaction Toolkit is the next logical step in the design of compacted cohesive fills. Often native soils do not have required stability or strength required to achieve the construction designobjectives. Alternatively, imported fill materials vary so much the testing agency is forced to perform numerous proctors and then guess which one “fits” the soil in question. These problems result in higher costs for the owner and delays for the contractor. Our solution is a field density target that is more robust and accurate compared to traditional lab determined density targets.

Our Compaction Toolkit bridges the knowledge gap geotechnical engineers and construction contractors have had to deal with since the advent of modern compaction equipment. Compaction Toolkit links the compaction signature of contemporary compaction equipment to engineering properties of compacted cohesive fills.

We can now design compacted fills and the related construction specifications to achieve the targeted engineering properties for stability, strength and swell. The quality control is performed by traditional index tests to classify the soil and nuclear density tests.

We can improve the performance of building pads road subgrade and earthwork fills using onsite native or marginal fills – therefore eliminating or reducing the need to remove and replace with costly imported fill. We can design fills to have the required performance requirements of engineered fills – minimal settlement, minimal swell and necessary strength.
